This work is being carried out in accordance with the President’s directive of April 30, 2024, to integrate basic AI elements into the real sector. Sixty-two AI projects are already being implemented in the energy, oil and gas, transport, and telecommunications sectors, with the key goal of increasing efficiency, operational transparency, and reducing losses.

rail-news.kz

In the railway sector, one of the flagship solutions is “Advanced Smart Diagnostics with AI Support.” The system automatically analyzes over 500 terabytes of track and equipment condition data. Previously, data was transmitted after the diagnostic cars stopped, and processing took up to 10-15 days. Now, diagnostic locomotives are equipped with satellite communications and transmit the information to a centralized center in near real time. This reduced the time required to resolve defects from 15 to 1 day and nearly doubled the time it takes to schedule repairs across the extensive network.

Another significant project was “Hidden Transit,” aimed at identifying violations in transportation payment. The AI system compares data on railcars, cargo, stations, companies, and routes, identifying tariff undercutting schemes where transit is billed as domestic transportation. Twenty-three analytical agents are deployed in a test mode, and systemic violations with economic impact have already been identified: additional charges in just one month amounted to approximately 500 million tenge, and the expected additional revenue in 2026 is estimated at 3.5 billion tenge. The fund expects the cumulative impact of AI projects to reach 711 billion tenge by 2030, and a KPI of 5% EBITDA growth through digital solutions has been set for companies.

At a meeting of the Public Council at Samruk-Kazyna, the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in portfolio companies was reviewed, with a focus on logistics and projects of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Company.
