The project is scheduled for the 2026\u20132030 period and involves planning a railway connection utilizing the European standard gauge of 1,435 mm, which will link Haparanda in Sweden with the northern regions of Finland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project will focus on the Haparanda\u2013Tornio\u2013Kemi corridor, including access lines to the Port of Kemi, the Tornio\u2013Roytta section, a transshipment terminal, and the modernization of the railway bridge spanning the Tornionjoki River. The contractor will also conduct engineering and geotechnical surveys, site analyses, general design work, and prepare an environmental impact assessment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The contract provides for a phased implementation: beginning with a project development stage, followed by a transition to the actual construction phase.
