In 2025\u20132026, this modernization initiative will cover approximately 3,000 kilometers of track \u2013 representing one-quarter of the country\u2019s entire railway infrastructure. To date, work has been completed on 1,140 kilometers, or 38% of the planned scope. Concurrently, projects are being executed across seven different sections of the network.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of this program, KTZ is constructing 27 new passing sidings and six additional track parks at major stations; laying 15 new tracks at existing sidings; and building 32 kilometers of second tracks along the busiest routes. These measures are designed to increase railway throughput capacity and enhance the efficiency of transportation operations. According to the company, the scale of the current work is unprecedented in the entire history of Kazakhstan\u2019s railway industry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A significant component of the project involves the digital transformation of train traffic management. KTZ will implement digital automatic block signaling across 2,188 kilometers of track, integrate 98 stations into a unified control system, and modernize the Zhana-Semey, Shalkar, and Beyneu stations by replacing obsolete equipment with modern microprocessor-based systems. Furthermore, sorting systems at the Altynkol, Zhana-Semey, and Saksauylskaya stations will be upgraded.
