The study aims to assess the viability of this energy model for powering the port and logistics infrastructure of the Black Sea\u2019s largest port. If the findings are positive, Constan\u021ba could become one of the first ports in Europe to utilize nuclear SMR solutions to power container terminals, data centers, and future industrial facilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent years, the Port of Constan\u021ba has significantly strengthened its role within the European logistics system, particularly following shifts in regional trade routes. It has emerged as a key alternative hub for the export of Ukrainian grain, agricultural products, and raw materials, ensuring stable supplies to international markets. Connected to the Danube via the Danube-Black Sea Canal, the port serves as a strategic multimodal hub integrating maritime, river, rail, and road transport, effectively acting as the primary trade gateway for Southeast Europe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DP World operates the Constan\u021ba South Container Terminal (CSCT) \u2013 the largest container terminal on the Black Sea \u2013 and is actively modernizing the facility. The company is implementing an infrastructure electrification and digitalization program, introducing new cranes, automation systems, and CO\u2082 emission-reduction technologies.
