Almaty, Kazakhstan – The ALG Company terminal is poised for a significant transformation in response to escalating demand and increased transported volumes. The terminal, specializing in handling diverse cargo types, including containers, cars, breakbulk, and large-size equipment, is set to expand its capacity and undergo a strategic operational shift. The revamp initiative is led by HPC Hamburg Port Consulting, a European company renowned for its expertise in strategic developments for rail terminals and other logistics solutions.
HPC has successfully completed a comprehensive analysis, incorporating operational data, market trends, volume forecasts, and a thorough review of the current terminal concept, including dwell times, train schedules, gate processes, loading and unloading procedures, and storage capacity. With the analysis phase concluded, the focus now shifts to exploring transitional options and implementing necessary changes to optimize the terminal’s operating model. Spanning a 17-hectare area, the ALG terminal in Almaty is a key player in the region, handling approximately 50,000 TEUs per year and offering warehousing and customs clearance services.
