Kazakhstan and Georgia launch new transport hub in Poti port.

Kazakhstan and Georgia are expanding their cooperation in transport and logistics: during a meeting of the prime ministers of the two countries, the launch of a new multimodal terminal of PTC Holding in the port of Poti was announced. This project will become a key element of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), opening up additional opportunities for increasing cargo flow. The new terminal with an area of 9 hectares will be able to handle up to 80,000 containers per year, providing transshipment of goods between the universal park and containers.

Last year showed a significant increase in transportation volumes between Kazakhstan and Georgia – by 62%, to 4.5 million tons. To further develop the route, work is underway to improve infrastructure, eliminate bottlenecks and remove administrative barriers. The development of logistics capacities in the port of Poti will help improve the efficiency of transit transportation and attract more shippers.

PTC Holding emphasizes its role in strengthening logistics interaction between the countries. The new terminal will provide businesses with a multimodal container service, increase the capacity of the TMTM and create favorable conditions for increasing trade volumes between Kazakhstan and Georgia.
