Vice Minister Zhanibek Taizhanov met with German Ambassador Monika Iversen and Stefan Meier, Member of the Bundestag and member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, at the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan. The parties discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics, as well as the participation of German companies in Kazakhstan’s infrastructure projects.
A key item on the agenda was the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). The Kazakh side presented plans for its digitalization, modernization of port and rail infrastructure, and the creation of joint terminal facilities. Particular attention was paid to the results of the 15th meeting of the Kazakh-German Intergovernmental Working Group, which confirmed the importance of dialogue for strengthening economic partnership.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify cooperation between relevant ministries and national companies, continue work on joint logistics projects, and deepen investment cooperation. Kazakhstan and Germany expressed their readiness to further develop their partnership in the transport sector within the framework of a permanent intergovernmental format.
