Kazakhstan and Pakistan strengthen transport and logistics cooperation.

The 13th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of Kazakhstan and Pakistan was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev and the Minister of National Economy of Pakistan Ahad Khan Cheema. Following the meeting, the parties signed 10 intergovernmental agreements in various areas – from trade and education to entrepreneurship and standardization.

As part of the visit, the head of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan held separate talks with the Pakistani ministers of communications, railways, maritime affairs and aviation. They discussed the prospects for expanding rail, road and maritime links, simplifying customs procedures, as well as restoring regular flights between the two countries.

With the management of the National Logistics Corporation (NLC), the parties discussed the creation of the Kazakhstan-Pakistan transport and logistics consortium, participation in the transportation of mineral fertilizers, expansion of multimodal routes and the opening of the NLC office in Almaty. Following the meeting, a Protocol on further deepening practical cooperation was signed.
