Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan discussed transport cooperation at the business council.

On August 6, Astana hosted the 6th meeting of the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan Business Council, dedicated to the role of small and medium-sized businesses in economic growth. The event was organized by the Chamber of Foreign Trade of Kazakhstan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Beibut Atamkulov emphasized the key role of transport cooperation between the two countries. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are actively developing railway and road corridors, such as the Trans-Caspian route and the Western Europe – Western China corridor. This improves infrastructure and increases the capacity of transport routes, contributing to the growth of transportation volumes and strengthening trade ties between the countries.

In addition, significant development of air traffic and the creation of modern logistics centers were noted. These efforts are aimed at improving transit routes and strengthening economic cooperation through Central Asia.

The meeting ended with the signing of a number of agreements aimed at further developing bilateral economic relations.
