Kazakhstan has approved a Digital Transformation Map for the Transport Industry.

At a government meeting, Rostislav Konyashkin, Vice Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented a report on the progress of digitalization in the transport industry. He stated that, as part of the Head of State’s instructions, a Digital Transformation Map was approved jointly with the Ministry of Transport, outlining key areas for implementing digital solutions in the industry.

One of the document’s priorities was the implementation of intelligent systems on more than half of rail transport routes – at least 55%. These measures are aimed at improving the efficiency of transportation management, the transparency of logistics processes, and the quality of transportation services.

Furthermore, Rostislav Konyashkin announced the implementation of the “Transit” information system within the Eurasian Economic Union, which is being implemented jointly with the Ministries of Finance and Transport. The system enables real-time tracking of cargo movements using navigation seals and is already in use at seven railway stations and 11 road border crossings. It is integrated with the information systems of the State Revenue Committee and the EAEU countries, which will simplify control for businesses, eliminate cases of “false transit,” and increase tax revenues. The full launch of the system throughout the Union is planned for February 2026.
