Kazakhstan to complete key logistics projects by end of 2025

By the end of 2025, Kazakhstan plans to implement a number of major projects in the transport and logistics sector. According to Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar, the priority is to complete the construction of a bypass road for oversized cargo at the Nur Zholy border crossing, modernize the Dostyk-Moiynty railway section and the bypass line of the Almaty station.

Five key customs posts will be modernized on the borders with China, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan: Temir Baba, Kazygurt, Tazhen, Maykapchagay and Bakhty. This will increase throughput and speed up cargo flows. A new container terminal with a capacity of up to 240 thousand TEU per year will open in the country’s seaport.

In addition, the digital e-Freight system will be introduced at all airports in Kazakhstan, which will ensure full automation of document flow in the field of air cargo transportation and increase the overall efficiency of logistics processes.
