A trilateral meeting of representatives of the railway administrations of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan was held in Kazakhstan, dedicated to improving the efficiency of freight transportation. The meeting was attended by delegations led by Erbol Tusupov (KTZ – Freight Transportation), Abduvali Kodirov (Uzbekistan Temir Yollari) and Radzhabmurad Odinayev (Rohi Ohani Tojikiston).
The main focus was on increasing the volume of transportation and optimizing work at the interstate junctions of Oasis (Tajikistan) and Saryagash (Uzbekistan). According to KTZ, in 2024, the volume of transportation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan reached 11.5 million tons. The average daily traffic through Saryagash in the first four months of 2025 was 26 trains, and the volume of container transportation on the China – Central Asia route increased by 104%, which corresponds to 144 container trains.
The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of ensuring uninterrupted receipt and dispatch of cargo, as well as further increase in container traffic. Following the negotiations, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, a corresponding protocol on cooperation was signed.
