Klaipeda port is expanding: construction of a new 100 hectare area.

The Port of Klaipeda is expanding and will begin developing a new 100-hectare area in the south of the harbour. The construction permit has already been received, and the project will be implemented in four stages.

The construction will include the creation of a complex of southern port gates with an area of ​​about 40 hectares, of which 32 hectares will be occupied by the water area. The project includes the construction of a 1.3-km-long southern dam, a 1-km-long northern dam, a 700-metre berth and a 120-metre-long ferry berth. The water area will be 3.5 metres deep, and part of the southern dam will be accessible for walks.

The first stage of construction will include the construction of the southern dam and part of the northern dam, the second stage will include the construction of a pier, the third stage will include the creation of an embankment, and the final stage will include the second part of the northern dam.
