At the end of 2024, Kombiverkehr KG transferred 769,733 road and water transport shipments to rail (-5.6%) and maintained a positive financial result – profit amounted to more than 216 thousand euros. Despite the decline in volumes in Germany and abroad, the company managed to maintain network stability and even increase transportation in a number of directions: in communication with Poland, growth was 46.4%, with France – 13.7%, with Spain – 12.6%. The leading segment remained the southern European route via the Brenner Corridor (215,654 shipments). Total transport work decreased by 6.3% – to 14.89 billion tonne-kilometers.

The company continued to invest in the development and optimization of the network. In 2024–2025, new routes were launched: Rotterdam–Cologne, Antwerp–Madrid, Duisburg–Hallsberg, and the Lübeck–Verona service was reopened. The strategically important project to change the traction operator was completed: 14 railway companies, including KombiRail Europe and SBB Cargo International, now provide services across the entire network. Operating revenue amounted to €434.6 million, almost at the 2023 level, while the company’s customers saved 1.12 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

Kombiverkehr has sharply criticized the German railway infrastructure and called on the federal government to urgently review the maintenance corridor policy. Due to massive construction work and the lack of bypass routes, up to 15% of trains are cancelled, which places a financial burden on customers. The company insists on a return to the principle of “repairs under moving wheels” and offers the government support measures: cancellation of price increases for access to tracks, compensation for detours, exemption from road charges and equal competitive conditions with road transport.
