In Almaty, the management of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC held an off-site meeting to discuss the progress of key infrastructure projects. Particular attention was paid to the construction of a bypass railway line around the Almaty station – the construction of the roadbed at the site is almost complete, 74 km of rail and sleeper grid have been assembled, and work on the construction of bridges and laying of pipes is being carried out strictly according to schedule. The project is planned to be completed by the end of the year.
The meeting also considered plans to increase the capacity of the Altynkol – Zhetygen section, which is 293 km long. The project provides for the construction of second tracks, new sidings and the modernization of stations. These measures will significantly increase the efficiency of the transport corridor between China and Central Asia and stimulate the development of the region’s economy.
KTZ intends to begin implementing the modernization this year, strengthening its role in the development of international logistics routes and domestic transport infrastructure.
