KTZ and Alstom discussed the development and reliability of the locomotive fleet at an annual technical seminar.

JSC NC KTZ held an annual technical seminar with the participation of KTZ-Freight Transportation, KTZ-Passenger Locomotives, and Alstom, manufacturer of the KZ8A and KZ4AT series electric locomotives. Participants reviewed the current state of the locomotive fleet and key areas for its future development as part of a long-standing partnership.

Asan Umbetov, General Director of KTZ-Freight Transportation, noted that the partnership with Alstom has lasted for over 11 years, during which time the parties have built sustainable work processes and a high level of professional interaction. He noted that this partnership has enabled the creation of one of the most reliable locomotive fleets in the region.

The seminar focused on rolling stock operation and maintenance, improving reliability, and optimizing technical processes. KTZ currently operates 180 KZ8A series electric locomotives, with a reliability rate of 96%, in line with planned targets. This achievement is made possible by the prompt service support provided by EKZ, a company that provides high-quality maintenance for domestically produced locomotives.
