JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and the State Corporation China Railways signed a new Agreement on Strategic Cooperation, replacing the 2014 agreement. The document provides for the development of joint transport routes, strengthening container transportation, modernizing infrastructure and introducing digital technologies to improve the efficiency and safety of transportation.
The parties also agreed to actively develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, attract additional cargo to the China-Europe routes and strengthen coordination of operations, including tariff policy and the regulatory framework to simplify cross-border transportation.
The signing of the agreement was the result of an official meeting between the Chairman of the Board of KTZ Talgat Aldybergenov and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of KZhD Guo Zhuxu and is in line with Kazakhstan’s foreign policy course to strengthen logistics ties with China and expand the country’s transit potential.
