A meeting between the management of KTZ Express and KTZ and an Austrian delegation led by Mr. Haubner, Second President of the National Council of the Austrian Parliament, was held at the headquarters of JSC NC KTZ in Astana. The parties discussed expanding cooperation between the two countries’ railway operators, prospects for developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), and the participation of Austrian companies in regional infrastructure projects.
A key outcome was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between KTZ Express and Rail Cargo Austria AG (part of ÖBB Holding AG). The document aims to develop intermodal transportation along the TITR, jointly utilize ÖBB’s terminal and rail infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe, and consider new projects to build logistics terminals. The memorandum was signed by Dauren Kozhakhmetov, CEO of KTZ Express, and Robert Heusmann, Head of Strategy at ÖBB Group.
The agreement strengthens KTZ Express’s position in the European market and expands the capabilities of the transit corridor between Europe and Asia, confirming the company’s role as a key operator of Kazakhstan’s international multimodal routes and its readiness to implement comprehensive logistics solutions.
