KTZ Express organized a pilot export shipment of Kazakhstani broken rice to the Port of Antwerp (Belgium) via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. The shipment was carried out multimodally, using rail infrastructure and shipping lines across the Caspian and Black Seas, enabling the testing of an alternative logistics scheme for deliveries to Europe.
The delivery route was structured along the following chain: Kyzylorda, Port of Aktau, Port of Poti, and Antwerp, using both rail and sea transport. The sea section between the Georgian and Belgian ports was handled by the international shipping group CMA CGM Group, integrating the route into global container services.
Previously, deliveries in this direction were primarily made overland via the northern corridor, transiting through Belarus and Germany. The use of the TMTM infrastructure has demonstrated a reduction in transportation costs with comparable delivery times – approximately 30 days – confirming the Middle Corridor’s potential as a competitive export channel for Kazakhstan’s agricultural products.
