KTZ reports 6.7% increase in cargo transportation volume, exceeding 22 million tons in September 2023

In September 2023, the volume of cargo transportation by the Kazakhstan Temirtauzakii (KTZ) railways increased by 6.7%, reaching 22.1 million tons compared to the previous year. The total freight turnover across the country amounted to 14.6 million tons, exceeding the previous year by 5%, while the volume of exports increased by 10%, reaching over 7.5 million tons.

Transportation indicators for various types of cargo also showed growth: coal transportation increased by 2%, grain by 15.8%, and milled products by 2.3%. Export volumes also stood out, with grain exports increasing by 32%, and petroleum product exports growing by 22%. Overall, operational freight turnover in September increased by 5.6%, reaching 21.8 billion ton-kilometers.
