Over 236 million tons of cargo were transported on the railway network of Kazakhstan in January-November 2024. Domestic transportation amounted to 154 million tons, an increase of 1% compared to the previous year, and 82 million tons were exported.
Coal transportation remained the largest segment – 92.6 million tons. Of these, 65.5 million tons were delivered to domestic consumers, and 27.1 million tons were sent abroad. Grain cargo also shows growth: 9.2 million tons were transported, including 7 million tons for export. Domestic grain supplies increased by 11%, reaching 2.2 million tons.
Growth is also noted in other categories. Transportation of oil cargo increased by 2.2%, reaching 17.6 million tons. Loading of ferrous metals increased by 2.5% (4 million tons), and the volume of non-ferrous ore and sulphur raw materials grew by 8.5% to 22.5 million tons.
