Laude Smart Intermodal and Loconi Intermodal SA, together with PKP LHS, have launched a regular intermodal service for Maersk from the Baltic Hub terminal in Gdansk to Ukraine. The key logistics link on the route is Laude’s terminal in Zamość, located on the LHS broad-gauge line, enabling direct connections between Polish and Ukrainian infrastructure.

The Laude-Loconi traction units carry up to 88 TEUs, and the transit time from Baltic Hub to Ukrainian terminals is approximately five days. Polish ports handle approximately 3.9 million TEUs annually, of which up to 8% is on the Ukrainian route. The partners emphasize that the new route strengthens Ukraine’s trade links with global markets and expands Maersk’s offerings, ensuring fast and predictable transit.

Representatives of Laude, Loconi, and PKP LHS note the service’s high reliability, flexible operational approach, and the key role of the broad-gauge line in maintaining stable connections to Ukraine. Experts also predict that Ukraine’s western regions will maintain strong logistical connections with Gdansk, even after the full restoration of the port of Odessa.
