Lineas and Hupac improve the quality of intermodal transport on the Antwerp-Catalonia route.

Lineas has implemented a major transformation plan to better meet the expectations and needs of its customers. As a result of improvements aimed at improving the reliability of operations and services, customer satisfaction rose from 2.9 to 3.5 out of 5 in 2023, peaking at 4. The focus was on a key area – rail carrier operations.

As part of these efforts, Lineas is focusing on providing traction services for the Open Intermodal product on the Antwerp-Catalonia route and optimizing the Spanish corridor to improve quality and synergies. Since the beginning of the year, the company has been providing traction services for customer Hupac on the Antwerp-Catalonia route, including Perpignan and Barcelona El Morrot, which has already led to an improvement in the quality of service.

From 16 September 2024, Hupac Intermodal will increase its intermodal frequency to 10 services per week on the Antwerp-Catalonia route, using its extensive experience and operational capabilities to provide high-quality solutions. Hupac Intermodal will manage and commercialize intermodal services on this route, while Lineas will remain the traction service provider, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of service for customers. Both companies are committed to maintaining high standards of service quality both during and after the transition.
