The new Minister of Transport and Communications of Lithuania, Eugenius Sabutis, has initiated projects for the reconstruction of national highways with the involvement of financing from European funds. 4.5 million euros will be allocated for improving the road infrastructure.

Part of the funds will be used to reconstruct the A11 Šiauliai-Palanga section of the motorway, where a pedestrian and bicycle path will be built. Major repairs will also be carried out on the A16 Vilnius-Prienai-Marijampole section of the road, with the addition of bicycle infrastructure.

An additional 300 thousand euros from the New Generation Lithuania program have been allocated for a project to replace polluting trucks with biogas-powered vehicles. These measures are aimed at improving the country’s transport ecosystem and environmental sustainability.
