LTG Group CEO Egidijus Lazauskas and Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications Eugenijus Sabutis visited the Rail Baltica construction sites in Jonava, where the construction of a 46.3 km section of the new railway is actively progressing. Contractors from Lithuania and Italy are working here, and the first columns of the longest railway bridge in the Baltics have already been installed – it will be 40 meters high and 1.51 km long. The bridge across the Neris River is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, with a third of the work already completed.

According to Minister Sabutis, the Rail Baltica project is of strategic importance for the entire Baltics and requires accelerating construction in the direction of Poland and the border with Latvia. In 2025, 10 km of the track with more than 40 engineering objects is planned to be completed on the first section between Switzerland and Žeimiai, and another 17.7 km to Šeta in 2026. Tenders have already been announced for the construction of a new 68 km of roadbed and infrastructure, and the work will cover a total of 114 km of railway sections.

The project is being implemented by LTG Group with EU support and will be the largest railway infrastructure project in the history of the region. The high-speed electrified line of European standard will connect Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia with Central and Western Europe, providing convenient passenger transportation, logistics and military mobility.
