LTG Infra, a member of LTG Group, has signed contracts to acquire public land near the Panevėžys railway hub and regional stations, as well as along the Rail Baltica section between Kaunas and the Lithuanian-Latvian border. Following tenders, the contractors were Tyrens Lietuva and a consortium consisting of Atamis (the lead partner) and Projects House, which will be responsible for implementing the land acquisition procedures.

The cost of the work to be performed by Tyrens Lietuva is approximately EUR 5 million including VAT, while the contract with Atamis and Projects House is estimated at approximately EUR 2.3 million including VAT. According to Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Roderikas Žiobakas, the land acquisition is a necessary step in advancing the Rail Baltica project, which will open up new business opportunities in the regions, attract investment, create jobs, and strengthen economic ties and national security.

According to Vytis Žalimas, CEO of LTG Infra, the project has moved from the planning stage to practical implementation, and the selected contractors will begin providing services immediately after the contracts are signed, with the total completion period set to be up to 26 months. In 2024, the Lithuanian government approved the Panevėžys railway hub development plan, which, after a detailed analysis, resulted in the preservation of all 23 residential buildings in the Šilas district. The Rail Baltica project remains the largest rail infrastructure project in the history of the Baltic states and a key EU initiative, envisioning the creation of an electrified European-gauge railway connecting Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia with Central and Western Europe.
