First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting with Chairman of the Board of Directors of Maersk Robert Maersk Uggla, during which they discussed potential investments in the modernization of the country’s transport infrastructure. According to the government representative, concession projects in ports aimed at improving trade logistics and attracting private capital are currently being actively implemented.

The Danish company Maersk already has experience working with Ukrainian ports: in the fall of 2024, a weekly feeder service was launched between Chornomorsk and Egyptian Port Said. In addition, Maersk previously expressed interest in the concession of a container terminal in Chornomorsk. In 2023, company representatives even visited the port, assessing its potential for further modernization.

According to the Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine, the implementation of such a project will not only modernize the container terminal according to world standards, but also significantly expand the trade and logistics infrastructure of the region, creating new jobs and opportunities for storing food and grain.
