Maersk has opened the first low-carbon warehouse in Denmark, located at Thaulow Dry Port in Fredericia. An official opening ceremony took place on June 24, 2024, attended by customers, local authorities and partners.

Built to BREEAM Excellent standards, the warehouse marks a significant milestone in Maersk’s ambition to achieve net zero CO2 emissions by 2040. The new logistics facility will significantly improve the handling of cargo arriving in the region by road, sea and air, strengthening Maersk’s logistics infrastructure in Scandinavia.

The joint project between Maersk and land owner Taulov Dry Port is fully electrified, with solar panels installed on the roof and excess renewable energy fed into the grid. Battery-powered trucks will be used for all shunting operations, and hydrogen stations are planned to be installed 150 meters from the site.
