In a groundbreaking initiative, METRANS addresses the overlooked issue of gas composition within shipping containers. Typically, containers are only utilized at 65%, leaving 35% filled with air, including various gases, some potentially harmful. Concerned about the health and safety of logistics workers, METRANS initiated a pilot project in 2019 at its Dunajská Streda terminal to measure gas concentrations within containers without the need to open them.
Recognizing the importance of innovation, METRANS has partnered with ECO WORLDWIDE SOLUTIONS (EWS GROUP), a European leader in gas concentration measurement. This collaboration not only facilitates precise measurement but also enables the venting of containers. With a shared commitment to health and safety, METRANS and EWS GROUP aim to expand these services to their terminals in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, ushering in a new era of container monitoring and ensuring the well-being of those in the logistics industry.
