As of July 13, 2025, METRANS will open a new rail connection between the Afluent terminal in Arad and the Yusen terminal in Bucharest, fully integrating Romania into the network of key ports in Central, Western Europe and the Adriatic. This is a significant step for both the company and the entire Romanian logistics industry.

The new route will allow customers from Bucharest and the eastern regions of Romania to carry out 100% rail transportation to the METRANS hub in Budapest (Csepel), from where cargo is connected to the ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Koper, Rijeka and others. The route also creates opportunities for export via the port of Constanta and import from it deep into Europe, using METRANS’s wide neutral network of 20 modern terminals.

The company will soon present a tariff grid for the new route. METRANS continues to develop quality logistics solutions that improve the efficiency of its customers’ supply chains in Europe.
