The Port of Zeebrugge has set a new depth record with the arrival of the giant container ship MSC Mina, a 400-metre long vessel with a draft of 16.40 metres. This surpasses the previous record set in July 2024 by the Ever Greet and marks a major milestone for the CSP Zeebrugge terminal.

MSC Mina arrived from Colombo, Sri Lanka, and is the first vessel on MSC’s new LION service, a direct route from Southeast Asia to Zeebrugge and on to Antwerp. The vessel is capable of carrying up to 23,656 TEU, making it one of the largest container ships in the world.
This visit reinforces the status of the Port of Antwerp-Bruges as a full-fledged hub for ultra-large vessels and confirms its key role as a gateway to Europe. MSC plans regular calls for vessels with a draft of over 16 metres, highlighting the high efficiency and deepwater capabilities of Zeebrugge.
