On 29 May 2025, the joint project of Naftoport and the Port of Gdansk Authority reached a key stage: the Governor of the Pomeranian Voivodeship issued an official permit for the construction of a new cargo terminal. This decision allows for the commencement of construction work on the territory of the existing liquid fuel handling complex.
The investment includes the creation of a new transshipment station “W” and the construction of berths on the territory of the existing sector I, where dredging waste was previously stored. These works will significantly increase the operational flexibility of the terminal, strengthen the logistics potential of the region, and create new jobs.
The project is of strategic importance for Poland’s energy security and is the result of long-term preparation and cooperation with experts, business partners and local authorities. The implementation of the initiative will strengthen the positions of Naftoport, PERN and the Port of Gdansk as key players in the Baltic.
