Under the planned structure, duisport and Captrain Deutschland would each hold a 45 % stake, with Dortmunder Hafen holding the remaining 10 %. The production of the new facility is subject to approval by the relevant corporate bodies and competition authorities.

The terminal will occupy a site of approximately 150,000 m² owned by Dortmunder Eisenbahn (which is co‑owned by Captrain and Dortmunder Hafen). Four tracks, each around 400 metres in length, will be provided together with a gantry crane, reach stackers and parking for several hundred trailers. Construction is scheduled to start in the second half of 2026, with completion currently envisaged by the end of 2027 at the earliest.

The logistics park presently handles between 800 and 900 truck arrivals daily. The new facility is intended to shift a portion of this traffic onto rail and consolidate trailers into combined transport. The terminal will also be linked to the LOG4NRW rail and inland‑waterway system and to duisport’s intermodal network at the Port of Duisburg, offering additional connectivity options for industry and commerce in North Rhine‑Westphalia.

As planned, the terminal will operate within the wider intermodal infrastructure in the Rhine‑Ruhr region and contribute to freight‑rail capacity for trailers in the Dortmund area.
