Nippon Express (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. (NX Vietnam), a subsidiary of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC., launched a new rail service linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on June 21. With Vietnam’s rapid economic growth fueling increased logistics needs, the new service will be an important element in effectively connecting the country’s manufacturing and consumer centers. Switching to rail transportation will help solve the problem of constant traffic congestion and reduce the costs and time of transporting goods.
NX Vietnam’s rail service covers the 1,700 km distance between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in approximately 48 hours, offering daily departures except Mondays. The new service allows large volumes of cargo to be transported with significantly lower CO2 emissions than road transport, in line with the new environmental law that came into force in Vietnam in 2022. This innovation helps reduce environmental impact and supports sustainable development.
