The implementation of the international railway project Rail Baltica continues in Estonia. A contract was signed with AS TREV-2 Grupp in Järvakandi (Rapla County) for the construction of the 14-kilometer Kärpla-Selä section. According to Anvar Salomets, Head of Rail Baltic Estonia, Rail Baltica has already moved from concept to active construction, and the project strengthens the economic and geopolitical ties of the Baltic States with Europe.
TREV-2 Grupp will design and build key infrastructure facilities, including the Ahekönnu and Nölva viaducts, the Kärpla and Kuuja ecological crossings, railway bridges over the Velise and Nurtu rivers, and the Lihuveski animal tunnel. The contract value is 67.6 million euros, financed by CEF and the Estonian state budget. Completion of the work is scheduled for 2028, with eight kilometers of the embankment planned to be built by 2027.
