Turkey remains a key logistics hub between Europe and Asia, and ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) continues to expand and optimize its routes. An important innovation is the replacement of the TransFER Sladkovicovo–Istanbul route with TransFER Sopron–Istanbul. This has increased the frequency of transportation to two times per week, improved planning, and increased the efficiency of transportation on the first and last legs of the route.
In addition, RCG has optimized existing routes, increasing their capacity and reducing travel times. For example, TransFER Budapest–Istanbul now operates five times a week instead of four, providing stable schedules and more options for customers. The TransFER Curtici–Tekirdag route has received an updated schedule, simplifying transportation planning. In addition, with a direct connection to the port of Tekirdağ, it remains a strategically important corridor between Europe and Asia.
Additional changes have been made to the TransFER Genk-Curtici route, which now offers five weekly departures between Belgium and Romania, significantly speeding up the transportation of goods to Turkey. These innovations strengthen RCG’s position in international logistics and make transportation more reliable and efficient.
