As part of the agreements between the presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on cargo transportation along the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan route, the container train covered a distance of 4,486 km in just 5 days. The freight train departed from the Chinese port of Xi’an, was reloaded at the KTZE Khorgos Gateway dry port and headed through the KTZ network to Saryagash station, and then to the final point – Tashkent station, the main transport hub of Central Asia.
Fast delivery was made possible by the efficient use of KTZ terminal capacities in China and the well-coordinated interaction of the railway administrations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. As a result of the reconstruction and optimization of technological processes, the capacity of the border station of Saryagash, through which the main cargo flow passes, increased by 50%.
The development of this optimal route and the use of the assets of railway companies will give a significant impetus to the expansion of transport and logistics capabilities and the deepening of the partnership between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
