Logistics operator Rhenus Logistics has expanded its operations in Asturias, integrating new local infrastructure to improve service reliability and optimize road transport to Europe. The expansion was implemented in collaboration with Guttrans, increasing regional distribution capacity and quickly responding to growing demand. This allows local companies to gain direct access to the carrier’s European network and daily international groupage shipments to over 30 countries.

This strategic decision is driven by market dynamics: in 2024, road transport in the region reached 42 million tonnes, and in 2025, growth exceeded 8%, based on accumulated data through the third quarter. Strengthening its local presence reduces delivery times and improves the reliability of logistics operations for businesses. Guttrans’s infrastructure, based in Llanera and with branches in A Coruña and Valladolid, complements the Rhenus network with a fleet of 21 trucks, delivery vehicles, and a regional courier system.

The expansion also strengthens Rhenus’s international operations: daily groupage shipments provide exporters and importers with faster access to one of Europe’s largest logistics networks. The company notes that the integration of a local partner creates a unified, coordinated operating model and enhances the competitiveness of regional companies in foreign markets, opening up additional opportunities for growing export shipments.
