GRAMPET and KTZ Express signed a memorandum of cooperation.

GRAMPET Group and KTZ Express signed a memorandum in Astana to continue their cooperation in expanding and modernizing the infrastructure at the port of Constanta. The document also aims to optimize rail freight transport between Europe and Asia, especially on the China-Europe-China route. As part of the agreement, GP Intermodal and KTZ Express agreed to provide each other with rail services in their regions: GP Intermodal in Europe, and KTZ Express in Asia.

Container handling in the Kostanay region increased by 1,750 units in the first nine months of 2024.

In the Kostanay region, over the first nine months of 2024, there has been an increase in container loading by 1,750 units compared to the same period last year, which indicates positive dynamics in the field of freight transportation. According to Kenes Dyusekeyev, head of the logistics department of the branch of KTZ – Freight Transportation LLC, a total of 11,934 fitting platforms (688.5 thousand tons) and 22,755 containers were loaded, among which 365 organized routes were formed.

Lithuania has approved a plan to build regional Rail Baltica stations.

The Lithuanian government has approved a special plan for the development of regional stations on the Rail Baltica section from Kaunas to the Lithuanian-Latvian border, which will connect the main line with the regions. The plan includes the construction of regional stations with the necessary engineering infrastructure, creating new opportunities for regional transportation.

A contract for the construction of a new 17.1 km long section of Rail Baltica has been signed in Lithuania.

The construction of the new 17.1-kilometer section of the Rail Baltica railway project continues in Lithuania. LTG Infra has signed a contract with the Czech Eurovia CZ and its Lithuanian partner Eurovia Lietuva for the work worth almost 98 million euros. This stage includes the construction of an embankment, engineering structures and local roads on the Šeta-Ramygala section.

Azerbaijan Railways to cut emissions by 40% by 2050.

Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Rovshan Rustamov took part in discussions at the Climate Action Week in Baku, where he spoke about the steps being taken to combat climate change. He noted that by 2050, the company plans to reduce carbon emissions by 40%, actively expanding the use of renewable energy sources such as solar panels. Last year, Azerbaijan Railways already reduced emissions by 9%.
