KTLF24: DB Cargo Eurasia GmbH production

Altynbek Akylbekov, Deputy Head of the Branch and Head of Logistics in Kazakhstan and Central Asia of DB Cargo Eurasia, presented the company’s main achievements, which include the first transit shipments along the Silk Road between China and Europe, as well as the formation of key routes such as Chuntsun-Duisburg. They organized these transportations jointly with Chinese, Russian, Kazakh and German railways, and their experience and development history began to take shape back in 2008.

New railway route connects Europe and Ukraine

METRANS commenced its services connecting to Ukraine back in 2022, facilitating the transportation of various cargoes between the Slovak/Ukrainian border. Recently, during the European Eastern holidays, a significant milestone was achieved as METRANS and Ukrzeleznitsa collaborated to initiate the first train at the Medyka border between Poland and Ukraine.

The development of transit traffic from China was discussed in Seoul

An important meeting was held in Seoul on the optimization of railway transportation and the development of transit routes from China. The event was organized by the largest Chinese companies China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd (CRCT) and Lianyungang Port Group (LPG). Deputy General Director for Logistics of KTZ Express JSC Aibek Kapar presented the participants with the current opportunities for cargo transit through Kazakhstan, with an emphasis on the conditions of transportation along the West-East Transport Corridor. As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to launch transit transportation of spare automotive parts from Korea to Central Asian countries. KTZ Express JSC, together with CRCT, as well as the automobile concerns Hyundai and General Motors, is already preparing to begin deliveries in the near future.

PTC Holding opens a subsidiary in Turkey

In Istanbul, the official opening and registration of a subsidiary of PTC Holding took place under the name “PTC Nakliye Lojistik Sanayi Ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi”, which is headed by Abzal Nurman. The move by PTC Holding aims to expand its international presence with a focus on increasing container freight volumes between China and Europe, and vice versa, using multimodal arrangements.

UTLC ERA: Reducing our carbon footprint

In 2023, companies that chose the services of UTLC ERA JSC reduced their carbon footprint by more than 270 thousand tons. Over the past year, 674,011 TEUs were delivered through the company’s services, and 98% of them passed through the territory of Kazakhstan. Container trains transited along the route China – Europe – China for a total distance of about 11.5 million kilometers, the average travel time was 5.27 days.

KTZ Express and QazTrade signed an agreement on export cooperation

Lineas, renowned as Europe’s largest private rail freight operator, unveils its groundbreaking FAME locomotive, signaling a firm commitment to combatting CO2 emissions in the transportation sector. FAME, derived from non-food sources like used cooking oil, stands for Fatty Acid Methyl Ester and represents a promising biofuel not yet utilized in locomotives. Lineas pioneers its application, marking the first rail freight operator to test this innovative fuel.
