Казахстан и Эстония укрепляют сотрудничество в области портовой инфраструктуры.

Министр транспорта Казахстана Марат Карабаев и министр инфраструктуры Эстонии Владимир Свет провели рабочую онлайн-встречу, посвященную обсуждению перспектив сотрудничества в сфере портовой инфраструктуры. В видеоконференции приняли участие более 60 представителей бизнеса, морских портов и экспортеров двух стран.

Greenpeace highlights the importance of Rail Baltica for the European rail network.

In July, Greenpeace published a study, “Connection Failed”, analysing existing and potential direct rail and air connections between major European cities. The organisation called on the European Union and national governments to increase investment in rail infrastructure, as rail transport significantly reduces CO2 emissions.

The first methanol-fueled container ship has docked at the port of Muuga.

On July 22, HHLA TK Estonia received the first container ship running on raw methanol in the Estonian port of Muuga. The Eco Maestro of X-Press Feeder operates on the Green Finland X-PRESS (GFX) route, starting from Rotterdam, passing through Antwerp, Kotka, Helsinki (Vuosaari) and finally arriving at the port of Muuga, after which it returns to Rotterdam.

cargo-partner launches testing of electric trucks in Slovenia.

cargo-partner, part of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC., is expanding its electric truck testing program in Europe. Following successful pilot projects in Austria and Slovakia, the initiative will also cover Slovenia from June 2024. The electric truck testing program is part of the company’s sustainability strategy “ROAD (Reducing Our Atmospheric Dependencies)”.

KTZ launches a program to modernize its railway infrastructure.

JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) is launching a program to increase the capacity of the railway infrastructure. In response to the growing demand for passenger and freight transportation, as well as the increase in transit freight traffic, the company will focus on the modernization of more than 180 railway stations. The program includes the construction of additional sidings, receiving and departure tracks and dispatch ramps, as well as the extension of existing tracks and the restoration of dismantled ones.
