MSC subsidiary Medlog acquires UK’s largest shipping company Maritime Transport.

MSC’s logistics subsidiary Medlog is acquiring Britain’s largest carrier Maritime Transport. The deal was announced by both companies, but details of the price remain confidential. Maritime Transport operates more than 30 rail routes and eight freight terminals across the UK, including Wakefield, Manchester, Tilbury and Birmingham. The company’s fleet includes more than 1,600 trucks.

In Swinoujscie, seabed scanning has begun for the construction of a container terminal.

A contract for a magnetic scan of the seabed was signed at the headquarters of ZMPSiŚ SA as part of the project “Construction of a sea and rail access to the deep-sea container terminal in the outer port of Świnoujście”. The contractor chosen was UXO Marine Sp. z o.o. from Rumia, specializing in geophysical surveys in the Baltic Sea.

“Lemtrans” opened a container terminal in Ukraine.

Lemtrans has completed the first stage of construction and opened the Container Terminal Vinnytsia (CTV) in Ukraine. As part of this stage, new infrastructure was built: railways were laid, a container platform for 2,000 TEU was equipped, and a warehouse with an area of ​​3.5 thousand square meters was erected. The terminal occupies 8 hectares and can handle up to 30 thousand TEU per year.

Vale has chosen the port of Tarragona to supply iron ore to the Mediterranean.

One of the world’s largest iron ore mining companies, Vale, has chosen the Port of Tarragona and Euroports for its new logistics operations to supply steel plants in the Mediterranean. The first shipment was marked by the arrival of the Magsenger 10, which delivered over 110,000 tonnes of iron ore from the Brazilian port of Ponta da Madeira.
