Rail Cargo Group exceeds all expectations in CDP environmental rating in 2023

The Rail Cargo Group (RCG), a key player in European logistics, has once again demonstrated its commitment to environmental transparency and sustainability. The non-profit organization CDP, globally recognized for its environmental ratings, acknowledged RCG’s efforts, even with increased requirements, including new aspects like biodiversity and the EU taxonomy. RCG not only maintained a good overall rating but also showed notable improvements in key areas such as “Energy” and “Value Chain Engagement,” surpassing the global C average. Rhenus открывает экологически чистый логистический центр в Дортмунде

Группа компаний Rhenus запускает на своей площадке в Дортмунде логистический центр Green Steel Logistics Hub, который планируется ввести в эксплуатацию осенью 2024 года. Центр призван содействовать экологически безопасной перевалке и транспортировке стали, в частности, компаниям, занимающимся производством, обработкой и переработкой стали. Rhenus реализует меры по обеспечению устойчивого развития, включая модернизацию существующих складов, включая установку солнечных панелей общей площадью 4000 квадратных метров для выработки электроэнергии для кранового оборудования, здания и зарядной инфраструктуры для будущих электропогрузчиков.

Intermodal success of the Kombiverkerer and digital innovation in railway transport

Kombiverkehr KG reported a significant shift from road to rail, with 815,467 truckloads, equivalent to 1.63 million TEU, transported on climate-friendly rail during the 2023 financial year. The company saw a 15.9% decrease in total transport of containers, swap bodies, and semitrailers compared to the previous year. Despite challenges like declining demand, quality issues, and weather-related disruptions, the commitment to intermodal transport helped save 1.2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide. However, factors like the widening price gap between road and rail, uncertain planning for subsidies, and increased expenses for train paths pose challenges for the company.

METRANS expands rail services to Danubeska Streda and Halkali terminal

METRANS has successfully operated a direct service between Dunajska Streda and Halkali since September 2022, providing a crucial link in the METRANS network.
