Компания CEVA Logistics и глобальный ритейлер Avolta запустили пилотный проект по развитию экологически чистых автомобильных перевозок между Барселоной и Мадридом с использованием трёх автопоездов Duo Trailer, работающих на экологически чистом топливе HVO. Согласно расчётам, это позволит сократить выбросы CO₂ до 520 тонн и оксидов азота на 180 кг в год, что эквивалентно сокращению использования 440 грузовиков.
The Duo Trailer road trains, consisting of a tractor and two semi-trailers, transport up to 70 tonnes per trip, which significantly reduces the carbon footprint compared to conventional trucking. The environmentally friendly HVO fuel, produced from vegetable oils or recycled fats, reduces harmful emissions without modifying the engines. Since April 2025, such trips have been carried out three times a week, the rest of the days – by conventional transport, but also on HVO.
CEVA and Avolta see the project as a step towards scaling up sustainable transport across Spain. According to the Spanish road authority, 80 Duo Trailers operating on the country’s routes could replace more than 35,000 standard truck journeys each year and prevent over 19,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
