The Port of Gdansk and DORACO are modernising the Wislansk embankment for PLN 351 million.

On 7 July 2025, the Port of Gdansk Authority and the DORACO construction corporation signed an agreement on the comprehensive reconstruction of the Wislansk embankment, one of the key facilities of the Inner Port. The total cost of the project is PLN 351 million, with completion scheduled for the second quarter of 2028. The project aims to increase cargo handling capacity, modernise the energy, rail and road infrastructure, as well as improve the safety and environmental sustainability of the port.

According to Dorota Pycz, President of the Port of Gdansk, the reconstruction of the embankment will allow for the handling of modern vessels with a deadweight of up to 100,000 tonnes and a draft of up to 10.6 metres. She emphasised that such investments strengthen the port’s resilience in a changing economy and promote the introduction of “green” technologies, turning Gdansk into a modern logistics hub for Central and Eastern Europe.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka, who was present at the signing, noted that the government will support projects that contribute to the growth of the potential of Polish ports. He expressed hope that in the coming months the results of the work will be tangible and will allow Gdansk to further increase the volume of cargo handling.
