Sea freight traffic in Kazakhstan grew by 67.9% in early 2025.

In January-February 2025, the volume of cargo transportation by sea in Kazakhstan reached 695 thousand tons, which is 67.9% more compared to the same period last year. This is evidenced by data from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan.

Cargo turnover for this period amounted to 305.4 million ton-km, an increase of 19.1% compared to 2024. The growth of sea transportation is associated with an increase in exports and the active use of the country’s logistics potential.

In Kazakhstan, there are the ports of Aktau and Kuryk, as well as the Bautine cargo terminal, which play a key role in providing international transport corridors and developing maritime trade.
