The cargo turnover of the Batumi Sea Port in 2024 increased by 9% compared to the previous year, reaching 3.6 million tons. The growth was ensured by increased transshipment volumes of oil and oil products, which amounted to 1.8 million tons (+12.5%), as well as dry cargo – 1.8 million tons (+5.9%).
At the same time, container turnover showed a decrease of 16.3% and amounted to 91.2 thousand TEU. The number of vessel calls also decreased by 6.9% – to 552 units.
The Batumi Port remains a key hub for cargo transportation in the region, despite fluctuations in the container segment. The increase in transshipment volumes of oil and dry cargo confirms its strategic role in cargo flows through the Caucasus.
