Hupac is launching new routes and improving existing connections to increase the efficiency and sustainability of intermodal transport. One of the key innovations will be a new shuttle train between Ghent in Belgium and Piadena, southeast of Milan. Three services per week will be offered initially, with the possibility of increasing the frequency.
The company is also strengthening the connection between Zeebrugge and Piacenza, increasing the frequency from three to four services per week. This improvement will reduce transit times and ensure more stable operation of the route. The new infrastructure in Piacenza will become operational early next year.
From January 2025, the frequency of services on the Busto Arsizio – Padova route, which connects northeast and northwest Italy, will increase from four to six services per week. In addition, the Malmö – Cologne Nord route will be connected to a new terminal in Germany, improving network stability and access to the southern regions.
