In September 2024, Ukrainian seaports handled 7.1 million tons of cargo, which is more than twice the result for the same period in 2023 (3.4 million tons). The leaders in cargo turnover were grain and ore cargo, which amounted to 4.1 million tons (compared to 2.3 million tons in 2023) and 1.3 million tons (against 249 thousand tons in 2023), respectively.
Within the Ukrainian corridor, 6 million tons of cargo were transported in September, of which 3.6 million tons were products of Ukrainian farmers. This confirms the important role of the agricultural sector in the cargo flow through the country’s ports.
Since the beginning of 2024 (January-September), Ukrainian ports have handled 74.2 million tons of cargo, which is significantly more than 41.1 million tons for the same period in 2023. The total number of vessels processed was 8,630, compared to 11,038 last year.
