The Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) have signed a memorandum of understanding to deepen cooperation in the areas of digitalization, decarbonization and cybersecurity. The signing took place in the presence of the First Mayor of Hamburg, Dr. Peter Zentscher, and the documents were signed by HPA CEO Jens Meyer and MPA CEO Teo Eng Dih.
The memorandum paves the way for a strategic partnership between the two port authorities, aimed at developing joint projects and initiatives that will improve the efficiency and sustainability of both ports. Possible areas of cooperation include pilot projects to optimize port operations, information exchange on the introduction of carbon-free fuels and the exchange of cybersecurity data.
“The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore is another important step towards a sustainable and digital future for our ports. By sharing knowledge and technologies, we can jointly develop innovative solutions that not only improve the efficiency of our port operations, but also make an important contribution to decarbonisation and cybersecurity,” says Jens Meyer, CEO of HPA.
